WINTER IS COMING.
As it seems ever year around this time, we get lulled into a false sense of warm weather conditions. Then, overnight, the temperatures drop, the wind chill index rises and the snow shovels are retrieved from the garage rafters.
WINTER HAS ARRIVED.
Will you be prepared? I don’t mean, will you have salt for the walkways or gas for the snow blower. I’m more inclined to ask if the skis and snowboards are waxed and ready to go. If the bindings are tight. If the roof rack on the Explorer is attached. And most importantly, did you put the location of Mountain Creek Resort into the GPS? Because when it snows, and it will snow, there is nowhere else you need to be to eNJoy all the winter sports you can handle.
Skiing and Snowboarding. Four mountain peaks. Eight lifts. One ticket. Winter at Mountain Creek is all about the options. Mountain Creek has a variety of terrain suitable for every ability level. Cruise the long groomers, light up the evening sky with night skiing or polish your freestyle game in one of our three dedicated terrain parks. A fleet of over 1,000 snow-making guns cover 100% of the resort’s terrain, making sure there’s ample snow on the ground during your stay.
Snow Tubing. Experience sliding on snow with no specialized equipment or lessons required. Friends and families can get together for an exciting and thrilling day for any guest. With their magic carpet lift, there’s no need to hike to the top of the hill, just enjoy the ride! They have one of the largest snow tubing parks in the area spanning more than five acres so come race your friends!
It’s like sledding, only easier, and more fun. It’s the perfect group and family activity. Staff is on sight to assist and instruct guests with proper riding guidelines.
Fat Biking. In case you’re unfamiliar with this term (as I was) Fat Bikes are bikes with large tires which are ideal to handle snow surfaces. Cruise around some of their existing bike trails in a loop at the summit. This is a thrilling outdoor activity, which is gaining in popularity across the country. Stop by and enjoy their renowned bike park in the winter!
Lodging – The Appalachian. The Appalachian is the perfect overnight destination for visitors to Mountain Creek, offering slopeside accommodations right at the base of Vernon Peak. The Appalachian offers spacious studio, one and two bedroom units complete with kitchens, working fireplaces and mountainside views.
