The only multi-event track meet in the country held entirely on the beach! There’s an idea for you. Just when you thought you couldn’t think of anything else you could fit into the perfect New Jersey Summer at the Shore, along comes an event that seems like a natural piece of the puzzle that every schoolboy and girl amateur athlete wants to be a part of. Beach Meet will be a 2-day competition consisting of Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Javelin and Shot Put. For the more aggressive competitor there is also a Triathlon event which is a combination of Long Jump, Shot Put and 800 Meter Run. Personally, I’m exhausted just writing about it.
You can register for an individual event, 2 events (Triple Jump, Long Jump, or Shot Put), or complete the Triathlon.
Here is a breakdown of the scheduling of the 2-day event:
Saturday, July 22nd – Pole Vault – 12:00 Noon
Boys and girls will run simultaneously in separate pits. The running order will be High School, Elementary, and Middle School girls and boys, followed by Open men and women and finally, Masters men and women.
Sunday, July 23rd – Long Jump – 10:00AM
Girls and boys will jump simultaneously on separate runways. The divisions and order of events are as follows: High School, Elementary, and Middle School girls and boys, followed by Open men and women and finally, Masters men and women.
Sunday, July 23rd – Shot Put – 10:00AM
Girls and boys will run simultaneously on separate throwing circles. The divisions and order of events are as follows: High School, Elementary, and Middle School girls and boys, followed by Open men and women and finally, Masters men and women.
Sunday, July 23rd – Triple Jump – 10:00AM
Girls and boys will compete simultaneously on separate runways. The divisions and order of events are as follows: High School, Elementary, and Middle School girls and boys, followed by Open men and women and finally, Masters men and women.
Sunday, July 23rd – Javelin – 10:00AM
Girls and boys will run simultaneously in the same throwing sector. The divisions and order of events are as follows: High School, Elementary, and Middle School girls and boys, followed by Open men and women and finally, Masters men and women.
*All throwing implements will be provided. All throwers high school and above will use the 72 inch javelins.
