It is a known fact that heart disease is a killer. Generations of Americans have suffered heart attacks, strokes and have had some type of surgery relating to blocked arteries. For women, this issue is at the forefront of the health movement.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women and stroke is close behind at number four. These are staggering numbers and New Jersey is unfortunately at the higher end of all reported cases. To get the message out there to the women of New Jersey, Speak Red will present the 12th Annual American Heart Association Garden State “Go Red For Women” Luncheon from 10:00AM to 2:00PM on Monday, May 12th at The Palace at Somerset Park. More than 650,000 women’s lives have already been saved but the fight is far from over. Men and women are joining the fight and will be present for a day of education, community, connection and inspiration.
A woman at your table will have a “heart” story. Someone in your row at the breakout session will have found a way to eat baked, not fried, for her whole family. That exercise and diet plan you’ve been looking for, the one that is actually doable? The woman next to you in line for coffee is going to tell you to forget diets, and become a Better You!
So wear red, think red and SPEAK RED! while we strive to overcome this deadly disease. This is an afternoon that offers more than just soup and a sandwich. Hope is on the menu.
Their mission:
“Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Our mission drives everything we do.”
