Have you had enough March Madness to last you until next year? Do you scour the sports pages to see the latest NFL trades and tantrums? Hockey not your thing? Well don’t fret kids, because baseball’s back. Of course the major league teams are playing in their huge cathedrals across the rivers in New York and Philadelphia, but here in New Jersey, we like to see the future stars play for the opportunity of getting to the show. It happens here, on the fields of the Sussex Skyhawks, the Lakewood Blue Claws, the Trenton Thunder and the Newark Bears, and this month’s featured team, the Somerset Patriots, as they prepare for 2015 Fan Fest.
The Somerset Patriots will celebrate the opening of the ballpark with their annual Fan Fest at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday, April 11th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Somerset Patriots Fan Fest is a FREE admission event and includes a chance for fans to meet and get autographs from baseball legend and the team’s manager emeritus Sparky Lyle, manager Brett Jodie, hitting/third base coach Shane Spencer, Jon Hunton, and Patriots players at different times during the event
Fans will be able to participate in carnival games and activities, as well as be entertained by clowns, face painters, and Sparkee and Slider. All kids get to run the bases at 2:30 pm.
Throughout Patriots Fan Fest, the team will provide exclusive one-day only ticket discounts for everyone in attendance. There will be a Buy One Get One Free offer for any Sunday through Thursday game. The Patriots will also have special discounted pricing for Mini Plan packages, which will be Buy One Get One Free and $30.00 off Flex Ticket books the day of the event only for new accounts. Fans can check out available Season Ticket seat locations while at the ballpark.
Kids will be able to interview with Spearhead Staffing representatives for the chance to become the Somerset Patriots Kid CEO for the 2015 season.
Fans can take tours of the Diamond Club and Suites, which are available for group outings throughout the season.
The first 500 kids will receive a Somerset Patriots Ballpark Comic Con branded Cinch Sack. All fans will receive exclusive discounts on merchandise.
The Somerset Patriots will also be unveiling their new look jerseys for the 2015 season.
Other attractions include live music by New Jersey based band Acoustic Road, various partner tables, and the New Jersey Mobile Hall of Fame.
Fans will be treated to an 1800’s style baseball game between the Flemington Neshanock and the Elizabeth Resolutes. Players wear wool uniforms, use a special leather ball, and do not use gloves to field.
