Barks and Whispers

cesar_milanLike many of us here in the Golden Retriever State, I have a dog. Two actually. I love them with all my heart and soul and sometimes when I’m down, depressed, confused, Obama’d or otherwise, I turn to them for comfort. I admit there are times when my wife doesn’t understand (or tolerate) me. She calls me her consultant. (She says when she needs my advice she’ll ask for it). My kids are often too busy for me, what with bailing Justin Bieber out of jail and all… So it is left to my faithful pooches, Jasper and Ziggy, to rescue me. The former is a 14-year old Beagle who is stately, regal and as mellow as an afternoon in Boulder, Colorado. The latter is a hyper, noisy, cute-as-hell Havanese that thinks he’s human (he reads the Asbury Park Press). They never fail in their collective mission to cheer me up, calm me down and generally get me through whatever crisis the day presents, Murphy’s Law notwithstanding. I talk to them and for some reason I think they understand. I tell them my problems, share my secrets and ask for advice. They look at me like, “You know I can’t speak.” As brilliant young comedian Michael Somerville (You Tube him on Letterman) says, we transfer our thoughts and feelings to our dogs, “You’re tired? You wanna take a nap? You wanna treat? Maybe he’s depressed over the economy.” Bottom line is, we don’t really know what our canine companions are feeling or thinking. But there is someone who does. When in doubt you can always tune in to the National Geographic Channel and spend an informative hour with Cesar Millan, the “Dog Whisperer.” We here at eNJoynj.com can do you one better, because this month Cesar Millan, comes to Red Bank and Morristown on his live tour to share some tips and stories on the special bond between humans and their four-legged companions. Live and in person, Cesar reveals the secrets of happier, healthier relationships between humans and their canine companions. Be amazed and inspired by the simplicity with which Cesar’s way can bring harmony and balance into you and your dog’s lives.

For all you skeptics out there who don’t believe this is possible, let’s take a look at Mr. Millan’s credentials…
Cesar Millan is a best-selling author, original host of National Geographic’s Dog Whisperer series, and star of the upcoming series “Leader of the Pack” on Nat Geo WILD. Simply put, Millan is the pet care industry’s most recognized and sought-after authority working in the field of dog care and rehabilitation. Notably, Millan has co-authored six books: the New York Times #1 Bestseller Cesar’s Way, the
New York Times Bestseller Be The Pack Leader, Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: The Ultimate
Episode Guide, A Member of the Family, How to Raise the Perfect Dog, and Cesar’s Rules. Millan will release his seventh book, Short Guide to a Happy Dog, on January 1, 2013. He has
also generated numerous instructional DVDs and CDs, and continues to host a popular series of
seminars called Cesar LIVE, where attendees learn how to apply his extensive knowledge of dog
psychology and rehabilitation techniques. His website, Cesarsway.com, is the largest dog dedicated website in the U.S. with over 1.2
million unique views per month. The site gives insights into dog behavior issues, rescue and
adoption, and health issues. In the summer of 2008 Millan designed and created his own proprietary, exclusive line of dog
products, which include health aids, toys, natural treats, leashes, ergonomic collars, and
specially designed, breed-specific beds, among other items.

Works for me, and of course Jasper and Ziggy approve. I know ‘cause they told me so.
